RobotLAB Franchise:  Are Franchisees Free to Share Opinions?  Experiences?

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) urges prospective franchise owners to speak to current & recent franchise owners prior to investing.  The FTC requires franchisors to provide contact information for every franchise owner, and warns of some seller’s attempts to steer prospects to their cherrypicked cheerleaders.  Is the RobotLAB franchise team, headed by Elad Inbar, represented by Spadea Law, and promoted by Franchise Consulting Company (FCC) pioneering a clever new way to suppress due diligence?  Or are they exceedingly respectful of their franchisees’ time.  by Sean Kelly

(UnhappyFranchisee.Com)  RobotLAB is a new, one-of-a-kind franchise opportunity.

According to the 2025 RobotLAB Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) filed with state registrations by Spadea Law:

“We offer franchises which operate a retail sales business which includes the sale of advanced robots for
automated tasks such as food ordering, delivery, cleaning, guidance, cooking and customer interaction in
the restaurant, hospitality, assisted-living, warehouse, government, entertainment, education, and medical
industries…
The total investment necessary to begin operation of a RobotLAB Franchised Business is $278,715 to
$543,464. This includes from $219,150 to $220,650 that must be paid to the franchisor or its affiliates.”

January 20, 2025, RobotLAB was named a Top 10 franchise by commissioned franchise broker network The Franchise Consulting Company for having sold 30 franchises in its first year.

Five months later, on June 30, 2025, FCC named RobotLAB a “Top 3 franchise for 2025” for having grown to 36 locations.

With both the franchise company and robot retailing being brand new, it would seem especially important for the next wave of prospective franchise owners to hear the candid opinions and experiences of the first wave of franchisees.

The FTC Consumer Guide to buying a franchise urges would-be franchise investors to speak to current and recent franchisees.  It cautions about some franchise sellers’ techniques of steering prospects to its handpicked cheerleaders.  And the FTC Franchise Rule requires franchisors to disclose contact information for each of its current and recent franchisees so prospective investors can speak to any and all they choose.

RobotLAB Inc. Discourages Would-be Owners From Speaking to Franchisees

I’ve reviewed hundreds, if not thousands, of FDDs.

Until I reviewed the current RobotLAB 2025 FDD, I had never seen a franchisor blatantly discourage prospects – in the FDD – from using the contact information they are required by the FTC and state laws to disclose.

Exhibit C List of Current Franchisees contains the text:

We respectfully ask that when contacting franchisees, you please respect their time and wait until after attending our Discovery Day to get in contact with them.

Any contention that current franchisees are overloaded by calls from tire-kickers and those with a casual interest is highly doubtful.

Any prospective franchisee reviewing the Exhibits of the FDD has been disclosed and is well along in the sales process.  The time to call franchisees is before the Discovery Day dog-and-robot show to determine whether to make the trip… or not.

If that was not enough to distract and derail proper due diligence, rather than provide individual, direct phone numbers for franchisees, the FDD preparer (Spadea Law?) supplied the same central, corporate-controlled number (1-877-626-8522) for each franchise location.

What is RobotLAB So Desperate to Hide?

A quick Google search reveals a number of highly experienced military Veterans in the first wave of franchisees, including a retired Colonel.

So, let’s say you’re a military service member, a combat Veteran, or a military family member considering the most important, life-changing investment you’ll ever make.

To make the right decision for your family’s future, you decide to follow the FTC’s advice and call current RobotLAB franchisees… starting with the ARMY, NAVY or AIR Force Veterans highlighted in their press materials.

You call the number next to their names and here’s what you get:
