(UnhappyFranchisee.Com)  DICKEY’S PIT BARBECUE Closed Location List is an ongoing attempt to track Dickey’s Barbecue Pit franchise closings as well as franchise ownership transfers.

We put together the initial Dickey’s location list by compiling from publicly available online sources (such as Yelp, Facebook, and local news outlets), Dickey’s Franchise Disclosure Documents (FDDs), analysis and tracking of the location page on the Dickeys.com website, and input from Dickey’s franchise owners and former owners.

532 Dickey’s Franchises (49%) Have Closed or Changed Owners in the Past 11 Years

We analyzed four company-prepared Dickey’s Franchise Disclosure Documents (from the years 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016, 2017).

We found that in the 11-year span:

Total number of signed Dickey’s franchise agreements (FAs) 2007-2016:  1085

Total number of Dickey’s franchises that were terminated, closed, reacquired or transitioned to new owner:  532

Percentage of Dickey’s franchises that were terminated, closed, reacquired or transitioned to new owner:  49%
