CURVES FOR WOMEN

Curves for Women pioneered a new concept in fitness: 30-minute women’s circuit training fitness clubs. It became the fastest growing franchise chain in history, growing to more than 10,000 franchises worldwide. After the first few years, however, increasing competition, a worsening economy and flaws within the model itself began taking a toll on the industry as a whole. Reports of widespread closures and omplaints of corporate indifference to its franchisees and draconian laws and policies designed to squeeze every last cent from franchise owners has plagued Curves International, and threatens its once-positive and Christian brand image.
