    To Whom It May Concern,

I am making a formal complaint. I recently visited a Chester’s Chicken located inside a Love’s Country Store # 385 at Hinton, Oklahoma. Normally, my husband and I order from this location at least twice a week. Sometimes my husband orders from there at lunchtime on his way to another work location on the way through. Therefore, I would consider ourselves a valued customer. There are other places to order takeout, dinner or lunches in this area, but we choose Chester’s Chicken because it’s convenient for us. Generally, we get treated with great hospitality in such a fast paced environment and we always respect that the workers are doing their best to get to each and every customer as soon as possible and with a smile and great attitude. Which brings me to the complaint at hand.

Last night, August 28, 2014 at approximately 8:30pm, we visited the Hinton Chester’s Chicken for a family sized order. We approached the hot case counter where the chicken was on display. A worker by the name of Christy asked in a cross manner what we wanted. She did not greet us with any hospitality whatsoever. We told her our order and she sighed and told us that they didn’t have any chicken legs for the dark meat order. We told her that thighs would be just fine. She then started snatching the chicken thighs out of the hot case rather rashly to the point where it was tearing the chicken up when she was throwing it into the box. My husband and I just looked at each other quite puzzled. She never asked us what sides we wanted she just started putting potato wedges into a box and hollered for another worker to come and help her. Another worker came to the counter and asked what other sides we wanted. My husband was fixed on Christi’s attitude, so he asked her if she had a problem with us or what we were ordering. The other worker asked my husband in a louder voice what other sides we wanted. My husband told them both if we were going to be treated hostile then we will just go somewhere else. We asked the Love’s cashier if there was a manager on duty. She said that the manager for Chester’s was Christy Christmas, the woman with the attitude. The cashier then called the Love’s manager up to the counter and we discussed what had just happened. He said that all he could do was report it to the GM of the Love’s store.  I am not satisfied with this because she is still treating customers in this manner. If you could, please respond to this email so that we can continue to be one of your valued customers.

I sent the formal complaint to the Chester’s Chicken website the day after the incident but have yet to hear back from anyone concerning this matter. I am still very perturbed that this manager can get away with treating customers in this manner without any reprimand. A formal complaint has also been sent to the Love’s location General Manager. Certainly someone on a corporate level would not appreciate such disrespectful services to continue representing their company.

    Tommye BlackCrow:

I’d strongly suggest you find some other place to clog your arteries. Even if Christy Christmas gives you a big old apology and a gift certificate, I’d never trust food she or her coworkers prepared for you without thinking they added a little something extra. I’m also worried she might just snap and club you unconscious with a drumstick.

If the service is usually good, maybe something was wrong.
    Maybe her dog just died.
    Or a parent.
Maybe her boyfriend Tommy Thanksgiving just broke up with her.
Maybe she suddenly realized she manages the chicken fryer at a crappy truck stop in the godforsaken state of Oklahoma, the state where dreams go to die?

On top of all that her name is freaking Christy Christmas.

Instead of showing some human compassion and understanding, Tommye BlackCrow (a person with a much cooler name) goes out of her way to repeatedly make her week worse and push Christy Christmas over the edge.

Imagine the great service you’d get if you brought her some flowers and said “Looks like you’re having a bad day. Cheer up Christy Christmas!”

I normally never mop lain but it is to the point I am so very frustrated with the Love’s Chester Chicken in Hinton , Ok. I make weekly to monthly trips to Oklahoma City & always stop at exit 101 Love’s just to get there chicken gizzards & fried corn , but for the last 5 TIMES there has been NO GIZZARDS or FRIED CORN!!! When we ask the workers how long they are rude & not very helpful and tell us it will be over an hour or more!!!!! REALLY???? There has been numerous times when I’m standing in line that there are customers behind upset due to they are also therefor gizzards & corn. Not understanding for a 24/7 store why this is an issue!?!?!

OK so I went to chester chicken in loves at Matthews, Missouri to get some chicken to eat at 5:15 pm after getting my diesel fuel ticket and there was no chicken cooked. Is this way you treat your valued customers. Do you pay your employers for doing nothing? If this doesn’t improve there will be a lot of truckers going elsewhere for diesel and food.

  • I just visited the Chesters inside Love’s Travel Stop in Dodge City, KS. I always want livers and I understand that I may have to wait for them to cook because it’s not a big seller. The man that waited on me seemed disgusted that I would wait. I heard him say to the other employee that I wish they would take livers off the menu. I don’t like to feel like a burden or unwelcome when I am a paying customer. What bothers me even more is that I have 26 years in the restaurant business an 13 years of that was management. I am now a truck driver and not to happy feelig like a trouble maker just because I like liver. 14:00 9/3/2015. Was the time and date of my visit.

My wife and I have been eating from Chesters Chicken at I-10 & 231 in Jackson County, Florida since it opened. It is at the Loves Truck Stop.

We have went in the last few weeks and a black woman with huge oily hair has waited on us. She is always so very rude and nasty. I ask her was she having a bad day and she said not till you came in! A young man (Pete) was their and told her these are oldest regular customers, and she told him to get to the back and work! We tolerated her, and thought she would go away. So, we went their on 11/29/15 and were told they were out of chicken until tomorrow! Well this has happened often and I thought how do they stay in business?
But, right up hwy. 231 we found another place that is nice and clean and always has chicken. Glad we know everyone in the county so we can tell them how bad and racist Chesters Chicken is.

Today is may 3rd and I am at the Loves truck stop in Dandridge Tn. I-40 exit 412. I was going to have chester chicken. Was told it would be 7 minutes for the tenders to cook. I was going to have the 6 piece meal. I said I would wait. I was told they would let me know when it was ready. I was setting right in front of the cashier. I was waiting and noticed another customer with tenders going by me. I went up and asked when the tenders were going to be ready, again told it would be a short wait. Why was I not told as to they were ready as I was suppose to be. They forgot. Then when they were ready they had not put the coleslaw with the meal, and when I asked for it was informed they were out. But never told me and was going to charge me full price even with part of the meal missing and the extra waiting. This happens alot around the country. Subway saved the day. chester chicken no more.

  • Chester’s Chicken Matthews, MO. Three occasions in the past month where there was zero chicken prepared. Tonight my family and I were treated with attitude and still no chicken. Your company just lost a family of four.

  • Chester’s Chicken, Loves Travel Plaza,, Matthews, Mo., what can I say,,,? Why call it chicken, when it is clear that NO chicken is ever cooked here? The Subway?, booming! Why? Its the only choice, other than a “roller dog”. After many, many stops to fuel, it’s on my route, NEVER, any chicken ready to be served. Help?, is that the problem? Pay a little better, get better employees. Today I was told by “Joseph” that he could cook livers only after he had cooked a fryer full of everything else. “Other people will be coming in to get chicken and I have to have plenty for them.” After looking around, I’m the ONLY person there!!! I told him I would wait for them, and I wanted 2 large orders.,,,, Still, NO, he had to cook for imagery people. Image me walking out the door,,,,,,,,,,

I am very upset about the customer service and the chicken here at this Chester’s in Vidor Texas. The chicken doesn’t even taste like Chester’s Chicken and they wanted to charge me $11 for four wedges and 4 strips.

I live in Jacksonville ,ar and I want able to receive a job with this company because of the color of my skin. I was told that a lot of there regular customers would not come back if I was hired so they hired other people. I am well qualified for the position and have excellent customer services. But I will be contacting higher authority.

It’s 4-25-17 Chester’s chicken in Hinton OK. I went in ordered a large order of livers and an egg roll. Got back out to my truck and was eating. When I was about half way through the meal. I noticed a long grayish black hair that had obviously been cooked in with the livers. I was descusted and went back in. They informed me that they would refund my money or replace the order. Who in their right mind wants more food from some place after something like that. I inquired about if they should be wearing hair nets. And was told all the have to do is pull their hair back. I will never eat here again. Either wear the hair net, shave your head, or hire an all bald crew to prepare the food.

  • We visited your loves truck stop 603 and ate in Chester’s. Had a wonderful experience with Bob and Alex. The food was fresh not over cooked and they got our order correct. Bob was full of smiles and cracking us up. Thought you should know you have 2 great employees.

  • I am a truck driver. I have visited survival Chester’s Chicken all over the US. Sadly this is the very worst Chicken Franchise I have ever seen. I don’t know if they have a regular restaurant the only ones I have ever seen that has been in the truck stops. And as everybody else contested they never have any chicken ready and if they do it looks more like pigeon. They buy the lowest grade of meat possible that’s it barely edible for human consumption and charge the highest price possible. So when all possible if I’m looking for chicken I try not to eat there I will stop at a Church’s a popeyes KFC or even one of the local grocery stores that offer Fried Chicken.

Someone will listen to all those who complain as soon as they get break from collecting their monies. Rt now sit tight while we scam all those unsuspecting franchisees and customers. Thanks for your patience.

  • Randy Hudson, American trucker

I have 2 franchises to complain about. The franchise at Hubbard Ohio, operating in a truck stop, but this franchise closes at 10 pm, and stops cooking before 9pm, so that they can leave early. The other franchise is in Snow Shoe PA, this franchise stops cooking at 7 pm, and the asians that “operate” this franchise think it’s funny to laugh at customers that are denied food that is on the menu. I will not again stop at a Chesters Chicken, and will spread the word amongst my colleagues that foreigners operating this franchise are having fun mocking American truck drivers. Additionally, I have a friend in radio broadcasting, who is VERY patriotic, and will enjoy the opportunity to lambaste this sort of thing.

  • My work crew stops at the Chester’s just outside of Williston ND.. it is tied into a truck stop. We work in the gas and oil industry so we keep hours that a normal person doesn’t. But this is the way most people live here. Anyhow it’s suppose to be 24/7 right!? So we get there around 4:30 to 4:40 AM every morning like clock work. A bus load of hungry men. So this morning which is a typical morning I am wanting bone in chicken meal and he has none. No thighs wings drumsticks breasts. So he says the obvious when I order “all I have in tenders” I see maybe 10 tenders total I order a 3 piece tender meal. I ask for 2 cole slaws for my two sides he has none and says you know this is a transition time of day when I’m cooking new product. I reply the obvious “aren’t you 24/7?” Well yes but…… after the but I really listen to what he said. Then there was another time the cole slaw issue again and I said to him “but can’t you make more” so when a customer like me comes in you have it? At this time of day he says I never have cole slaw and I reply but I was just here yesterday at the exact same time and ordered it…. and you had it? He never or acts like he never remembers our conversations. I keep waiting for someone to come out laughing and saying your on candid camera! But…. it hasn’t happened.

Tonight we visited the one in statesville nc 7:00. We ordered an 8 pieces family pack with a side order of chicken livers. It took 1 hour and 10 minutes to get our order. She said that they only had 2 pieces of corn and she will make more. 20 minutes later she told us they were out and didn’t have anymore. So i asked for mashed potatoes instead. After another 10 minutes went by she said that our livers will be done in 2 minutes but the biscuits that came with the meal will be 6 more minutes. I can replace them with another item if I wanted to. I replied, we have waited 1 hour. whats 6 more minutes!! I have never had this bad of service at Chesters Chicken. This was ridiculous!!!! Then on top of it all, when I got home there was no mashed potatoes and gave us cold green beans!!! Oh my goodness……….. Never again!!

I have stopped at Chester’s Chicken at the truck stop in Harrold, TX. several times. I have even called 30 minutes before I intended to go by on my way home from Wichita Falls, TX. They continue to be rude and not care if they have food ready or not. Their deep frier stays broke down or some excuses. I stopped for chicken livers yesterday at 6:15 Pm, only one fryer was working, they had 3 chicken tenders cooked, 4 pieces of chicken, a few fries and scrapes of chicken livers. You would think they would be prepared for the evening meal on time. This is a poorly managed business. A lot of people I know stopped going their. I will be eating my fried livers at the Chicken Box in Wichita Falls. before leaving there.
